The Joys of Potty Training...

Matt called me at work on Sunday night and said that Mason pooped on the toilet all by himself. He was so happy and proud of himself. I then made the decision that we are going to give potty training a try this week.  I have a great amount of sarcasm when saying, "The Joys of Potty Training.."   Obvious the end result is wonderful, but getting there can & most likely will be a challenge. Monday morning I sat with Mason and we drank a "BIG" glass of water. I then started taking him to the bathroom every 10 minutes.  I had to set a timer so I wouldn't be distracted with something else. He thought he was hot stuff. Mason said, "Me big boy, I don't need diapers no more!" Monday night we went and bought big boy underwear.  He picked out Thomas the Train and a multi pack with Disney characters.  We are on day 4 right now.  Mastering the pooping on the toilet is becoming a challenge.  I remember Kendra having a hard time, but don't remember how long it took her to master it.  I will have to find time to do a bathroom wipe down daily.  Boys are messy & it's hard to aim with a 2 year old.  Reminds me of a crazy water hose..Ha Ha!  Overall, Mason has been doing well. I have to take him about every hour to the bathroom and he goes every time.  I broke down and bought a "bubble gun" for a "prize" after going poop on the toilet.  So far today he didn't get his "prize".  Maybe tomorrow...I can only hope...Right? He looks so cute in his little underwear.  I had to post a picture!
